Use the following list as a starting point for finding (or creating) open educational resources (OER) for your teaching/classroom needs or for your own personal use/development.
OER are educational materials that are freely available for students and teachers to use, update, and share. Such resources can include both learning tools (e.g., training materials, open software for creating text, websites, videos, etc.) and learning materials (e.g., textbooks, lessons, assignments, tests/exams, and educational videos).
What is the value of incorporating OER?
Studies suggest OER support removing barriers of accessibility and affordability in education, improve teaching practices, minimize licensing/copyright issues, and foster open research and knowledge creation (see OER Reading List below for some citations).
This list only scratches the surface of the wealth of open materials available for teaching and learning.
Contact library@msmnyc.edu if you have questions, suggestions, or need any assistance in finding the right OER for your teaching or learning.
